TEACHING
Last night was the 10th Teaching Awards ceremony.Ìý Libby Purves discusses some of the current issues facing teachers including: the scrapping of Sats at Keystage 3; issues of pay, workload and continuing professional development, with:-Ìý
Mick Brooks, General Secretary of the National Association of Head Teachers; Professor Maurice Galton, authors of Teachers Under Pressure;Ìý Patrick Nash, Chief Executive, Teacher Support Network.

SEASHORE DETECTIVES
Reporter: Melissa Viney follows a class of 10 year olds on a science lesson at a beach in Devon. The children have been trained by the Marine Biological Association to search for ‘alien invaders’ – foreign seaweed and invertebrate species that have washed up on the shore.

SOUNDAFFECTS
SoundAffects links children across the globe through the unexploited medium of high quality audio and gives them access to a powerful and intimate line of communication.ÌýChildren at linked schools in the UK and in the developing world work with professional radio journalists to tell their stories and ask and respond to each other’s questions, and they also contribute to joint curriculum projects.
Libby Purves talks to Penny Boreham, co-founder SoundAffects; and Jill Adams, Head Teacher, St Michael's Figheldean Primary School near Salisbury, one of the schools participating in the pilot project.
