Libby Purves
Libby Purves presents this week's edition of the Learning Curve
Sixth Form Education:
Libby discusses the future of the traditional school sixth form against the advantages of sixth form colleges and Further Education or tertiary colleges. She is joined by Rob Wye Director of Strategy and Communications for the Learning and Skills Council; Nigel Robbins, OBE, Principal of Cirencester College; and Danielle Johnson, Deputy Head of William Parker school, Hastings.

Show Racism the Red Card
A new documentary called A Safe Place has been distributed to all schools in the UK. Presented by Gary Lineker, it's a hard hitting look at prejudice faced by asylum seekers in the UK. It follows two young adult asylum seekers, interspersing their experiences with viewpoints from famous footballers who are also immigrants to the UK, like Thierry Henry, Ashley Cole, David James, Shaka Hislop, Lua Lua and Shola Amoba. Next week it will be broadcast on Teachers' TV. The programme is made by the charity 'Show Racism the Red Card' which specialises in helping schools to combat racism through the use of footballers as role models. Libby talks to Ged Grebby, the founder and guiding light of Show Racism the Red Card.
