STUDENT LOANS
Jo Bostock, who works for Radio Leicester, tells the story of overpaying on her student loan. She’s recently paid off her loan – but because she wasn’t aware she’d finished paying six months more instalments were deducted from her pay packet – leaving her in the red by about £700.
Libby Purves interviews Ralph Seymour-Jackson, Chief Executive of the Student Loans Company. They discuss the current system and how students can avoid overpaying.
NUS Libby Purves speaks to Wes Streeting, new President Elect of the National Union of Students, who’ll take over from the outgoing president, Gemma Tumelty, in July. They discuss current issues facing students – including student loans, tuition fees, and the problem students face in trying to juggle work with studying.
STUDENT GEMS Student Gems is a new website designed to create an employment market that matches student skills against the demand for one-off jobs from businesses or individuals. It gives students a chance to utilise their skills, showcase their talents and gain valuable commercial experience.
