Adult Learners鈥 Week 鈥 fall in participation
Today sees the start of Adult Learners鈥 Week, is the largest annual celebration of adult learning in the UK. However, there has been a fall in participation.
David Sherlock CBE is President of NIACE. and co-author, with Nicky Perry of Quality Improvement in Adult Vocational Education and Training. He discusses the possible issues that lie behind this.

Life Changers Campaign
The University and College Union Life Changers Campaign celebrates the champions of education.
One of the winners, Dr Sue Starkings, Head of Skills for Learning at London South Bank University talks to Libby. She received the award for her work with students from London, which has some of the lowest university participation rates in the country.

Anonymity for teachers accused of abuse
Scotland鈥檚 first Commissioner for Children and Young People, has the job of promoting and safeguarding the rights of children and young people in Scotland. She is supporting calls from Scot鈥檃nd鈥檚 teachers鈥 unions that teachers accused of abuse of children should have the right to remain anonymous until the allegations are fully investigated.
Libby interviews Kathleen Marshall about this and her concerns over the 鈥渋ncreasing climate of fear鈥 teachers work in.

Mi Vida Loca
Research from the Department of Children, Schools and Families shows that more than one in four people regrets dropping a language at school, particularly Spanish and French. Ma Vida Loca, a new and exciting way for adults to learn Spanish online is launched today by the 成人快手 Languages Unit.
