Libby Purves
In 1998 the Government set a target to halve the number of pregnant girls under 16 by 2010. The latest pregnancy statistics suggest this target will not be met. What role does education play in this debate?
Programme details

Sex Education
Libby Purves is joined by Jan Barlow, Chief Executive Officer, Brook Advisory Service, to discuss the current state of sex education in this country.

Running this month on 1Xtra - the 成人快手's digital station for fans of black music - is a sex education campaign called Between the Sheets.

Babysitting
The YWCA runs babysitting courses at several of its centres throughout the country. Sara Parker went along to one of the sessions at a course in Dagenham.

Adult Education
The Government has promised that from 2006/7 all adults will be entitled to free tuition to gain Level 2 qualifications equivalent to 5 GCSEs; but a recent Social Market Foundation report has called for savings to be made in public spending on university funding and training for low-skilled adults and for these savings to be redirected to boost early years education.

We are joined by Vidhya Alakeson,听REsearch Fellow听at the Social Market Foundation and author of the report "Too Much, Too Late", and Alastair Thomson , Senior Policy Officer at NIACE - The National Institute of Adult Continuing Education.
