Lard

Sunny mentioned one of my very favourite ingredients in her dating profile, so I thought she'd like a copy of this lovely snap that I have on my kitchen wall near the Raeburn.
They all still look a bit on the scrawny side, but couldn't that Lulu lassie learn a thing or two from this happy wee family?

Message for Calum & Donald - PR
Posted: Friday, 03 February 2006 |
This is an important message for Calum and Donald.
My contacts in the world of gourmet catering (Angus and Donnie, the Mackay brothers from the butcher's van) have passed on a sponsorship offer from the Guga Marketing Board, together with a competition encouraging people to find love at the Fank. I said that this was more in your line as Fank Organisers, but it does look exciting. Please can your people talk to their people?
They asked whether other companies had shown an interest and were keen to guage public opinion on how to select the ideal Guga Couple. Any thoughts?

Sheep pens

Think we've found the ideal pens for the Dating Extravaganza - the classic fat 12-colour model. (Bet you recognise it now Sunny!) These should do for both (all?) genders and sexualities, for Cross dressers, etc. and for the Potter jottings.
Chrissie Mary & I could do with some help with the list of Fank Family ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ mates. Seemingly people who are not reality-challenged are currently under-represented in the list of possible ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ mates. Thank you for any suggestions.

Valentine joy!
Posted: Tuesday, 14 February 2006 |
What a wonderful day! I'd just given Chrissie Mary her medication and sent her for a lie down after a fairly tiring session of wool winding when Roddie John came with the post. Well, I was half expecting the hay bales and was excited enough about that, but wasn't there a Mystery Package from a Secret Admirer as well.
I don't know what to think. As you can see there was a wee tray with a tweed cloth, a can of WD40, a pack of Sun Ray Tips and a wee note saying, "Be mine Annie Beag and there's some Duck Tape where this came from"
How romantic is that?
So who are you, man of my dreams?

Casting away
Posted: Monday, 27 February 2006 |
I’ve discovered who sent my Valentine’s tray and I’m that excited! Seemingly my secret admirer is a research assistant for a big film company. He’s been following our blogs with great interest and says that there’s a lot of celebs on the islands just now because they’re developing a film based on islandblogging.
He only sent the tray so he could meet me to get some inside gen on Ness and the local Fank bloggers, but I’m not disappointed because I just love the Sun Ray Tips and the WD 40 and it’s nice to be in on what’s going on for a change. He’s promised me a personal introduction to the Firth boys and said he’ll sort out the inmates for the Fank Family ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ (formerly known as Big Brother House) for us. ‘No problemo’, he said. I could listen to him all day.
George Clooney’s seriously considering the part of Calumannabel and seemingly Kate Winslet is keen to play Sunny from Arran. At least there shouldn’t be too much trouble casting Uma Thurman in the Northern Isles. The film boddach says that Catherine Zeta Jones 'fancies the gig' and is scouring the pages of J D Williams' catalogue but the wardrobe buyers are quite taken by Oxendales and Mackays in Stornoway.
So, who should play everyone else? Someone flashy to play Arnish Lighthouse? The Littlest Hobo, Lassie, Mr Ed, Blofeld’s Cat and friends to play the IT-literate animals in the Northern Isles…
