Annie, The question is: boil in WHAT. I've heard diesel mentioned.
Arnish Lighthouse from Stornoway
Send one this way Annie! Have a feeling I`ve eaten far worse....

I understand that, to pass the time and encourage conviviality while waiting in line, Strubags tea will be provided (for a price, of course: where do you think you are?!), using non-reflective kettles and pots. Murdo John will make an appearance, fully clothed we hope.

I've heard of this alternative guga recipe for the truly inexperienced: Boil cold water in a large pan. Add guga and a well-used Harris Tweed cap. Boil until the cap is tender. Discard the guga and serve the cap with potatoes and milk.

Lance?

you've left oot the neeps,Delia!
carol from glad she's off her food
No wonder, as Johnny Cash sang, "Delia, Oh Delia, Delia is gone" ... [kidding].

"plucky". I saw what you did there Annie. They'd need to be brave pluckers with all those birds to prepare for the pot.

Solan, and thanks for all the fish...
Flying Cat from guga's last words
Just happened to scroll down the list of ibloggers, current and inactive, and could not help wondering why some had greater staying power than others. Let's have some speculation!! The more enduring bloggers, I think, work hard at their postings. Detachment (if you are going to stare at your boring navel, do we need close-ups?) and the ability to draw in others (be imaginative, please) help. I could name some of my favorite bloggers, but they surely know who they are. It's fun, quasi addictive, checking your blogs. Muchas gracias, and keep it coming.

If Dod Macfarlane's hometown boys could stay a while longer on Sula Sgeir, maybe they could bring in a bigger load of guga. Unless the price goes down, I shall have to make do without guga this year as well. 'tis not fair: it ain't my fault if the dollar is not worth much more than a dinar. How about keeping a wing in the freezer for me, Annie-B.? I do like the left wing better, if you would be kind to remember.

Will you be having a prayer with that wing mjc? I note that FC has been reading Gugaless Adams' blockbusting book "The Htchhikers' Guide to Hebrides"
Annie B from the usual
Mmm. Close ups of navels you say. Shall I talk to Murdo John?
Annie B from the usual
Could you find Murdo John's navel?
Flying Cat from trying to believe one impossible thing.....
That would be itch-hikers when the midgies are out.

I guess prayer might be helpful when winging it. I am more into the wings of song myself (less subject to sectarian strife and such).

Depends who wrote it...
Flying Cat from Parrying
Surely you meant to write "praying" FC?!? Another typo (!) dropped unceremoniously on the broad shoulders of Ann at IBHQ!
