This is Cathy as snapped by Heatcliff.....or possibly vice versa. With the emphasis on vice. I'm awfully sorry it's all over: somehow the anticipation seems to be so much more than the actualit茅. There's a horrible emptiness, a sort of fin de si猫cle feeling in the air, nothing to look forward to.......

Probably (c) as it looks like an airport runway he's on. Is there a Tolsta International?
calumac from duty free shop Callanish International
Wasn't that a Gene Pitney number?
Flying Cat from ancient music compendium
'Twenty four Hours from Tolsta' was Andy Stewart not Gene Pitney. Fool!

Are we supposed to phone somewhere and say whether it's a b or c? Is it a quid a minute or am I gettiing mixed up with Chrissie Mary?
calum from the usual with an extra cappucino

i'm in need of cheering up-show some photos of the event-otherwise my son will never believe these blogs-he has us all ready to be booked in to the funny farm!

Mystery solved. It's d. It was FC's French bit about the fish on the bike that gave me the clue. The bodach is from the EU and he's come to check whether our marags measure up to European regulations on standard lengths for black puddings. By all means you can pay a quid a minute to say it's d Calum. If you keep repeating it you'll have the makings of a new hit to rival Gene and Andy.

You won't believe this but the first time I went to Foula the runway looked like that.

You've surely more nous than to get mixed up with Chrissie Mary.

Murdo John did get a consolation prize. He is to have an important role in the next Lewis extravaganza, as Warden/Master (who gets suitably bumped off) of his namesake College, alma mater of Tony Lord of Fettes.. Murdo is also going to have a Doctor Honoris Causa, something ole Maggie did not get, and Tony may not. All in all, Murdo has nothing to complain about.

I've just waved the last stragglers farewell, Annie, after a scallops supper at the Lighthouse door. I was a bit worried about the chaps heading for the Northern Isles in their carved logs, but it was a hoot. Particularly when the Fank Coach lost its exhaust in Castle Street.
Arnish Lighthouse from Stornoway
Twenty-four hours from Ulsta....the Shetland version. Sung by Hom Bru... Did you not look under the carved logs, Mr Lighthouse? They're powered by reconditioned ex Lifeboat engines...va va vroooom!!!!

Thanks to Arnish for his annual contribution as Special Fank Transport Marshal in Stornoway. The logboatmen doing their Hawaii Five 0 impression brought tears to the eyes as they powered out of Stornoway Harbour.
