It's Vic Galloway looking after Get It On for Bryan all week and I've definitely scored on Monday, as the theme is 'basslines'.

We all like a great vocal melody, a fat (phat?) beat and a tasty guitar lick, but what would a song be without a good bassline? Some music is about little more. Lots of funk, reggae, techno and hip-hop is dominated by the bassline... As are a lot of the best songs EVER! Think about 'The Chain' by Fleetwood Mac, 'Pump it up' by Elvis Costello and 'Another one bites the dust' by Queen - they all have iconic basslines. It might be at the start, the end or running throughout the song, but a funky bassline can give a song the necessary swing and groove it needs to feel right.

So on Monday tap into your low-end theory, and get deep, down and dirty... I want your bass-line related suggestions and requests!

Lilly Allen, Brandon Flowers, Robert Plant and Mud were all artist to be found in your garden tonight. The Casuals and Shad were my tracks of the show, and obviously the theme from Bill and Ben was the evening's big disappointment. Talking of kids TV, here's to the fan page for The Herbs which I hope will also bring back some nice memories for you. Memories of younger days is on the agenda tomorrow as I'll be asking you to tell us which songs you associate with the long summer holidays of your school years.

Gardening is the theme for tomorrow night. It’s one of several good themes suggested by Mabel Syrup not on the blog, Facebook, Twitter or text, but…wait for it…by letter! It was actually really nice to get a hand written letter and it reminded me of the old days when I first started in radio.

Back then, the first task on arriving at work was to rush to your ‘dookit’ and find out if anyone had been in touch. As I did the ‘indie and alternative’ show it was unlikely I was going to have a bulging postbag but it was always nice to find out that people had taken the trouble to write.

The instant hit that you get from texting and twittering is not the same but it’s a still lovely to know that people spend time coming up with their suggestions night after night.

I have been thinking of the old days today after an ancient ‘DJ publicity photo’ turned up on Facebook. The radio station in Aberdeen that I worked for is 30 years old today, so happy birthday Northsound. I’ve got so many happy memories of working there with a talented team that included Edi Stark, Nicky Campbell and Richard Gordon. Now, I wonder what ever happened to them….

Anyway, on with tomorrow’s theme which is ‘gardens’. As it seemed that most of tonight’s texters were in the garden enjoying a glass of wine with their tea it seems an appropriate one to do.

Tonight was a chance to give credit to the un-credited like Annie Watkins, David Williams and ...er... George Michael. I think we played a lot of suggestions from the blog tonight but I think it was a theme much more suited to the longer form of the blog rather than the limited responses on Twitter etc. I hope you get the chance to spread the word about our Twitter account. It was a fascinating show tonight but I don't think it can compete with Mary Ann and her Balkan bagpiping. Here's the I found of a man playing a set made out of a goat!

Tomorrow marks the start of the 'one year to go' countdown to the Olympics. To celebrate we are going to do 'one' as a theme. From One Love to One in ten, you know how it works bloggers...

Tuesday's theme is a chance to come up with some really interesting tunes to play. It's all about the underappreciated and uncredited musicians who appear on songs unnoticed.

A few examples are Marvin Gaye playing drums on this Please Mr Postman or maybe Chris Rea contributing a guitar solo on Deacon Blue's debut album.

However please also feel free to suggest those musicians who are not so well known but who have made a sizeable contribution to well known pop singles.

It's been a very busy week on the show which makes it fun to present, but I always feel a bit guilty about all the songs we didn't get the chance to play. It's particularly annoying when so many of you put a lot of time and effort into your suggestions and often they don't make it to the show. I try to make a point of directing our listeners towards the blog and Facebook so at least they can read some of the interesting stories behind a musical choice even if they don't get to hear the actual track.

We have got some varied and challenging themes lined up for next week, but we'll start you off with an easy one which is 'periods of time'. We will include songs ( and artists) featuring seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months and so on. Whether it's One Week, Seven Days or 24 Hours to Tulsa there should be no shortage of time based suggestions. The clock starts ticking at ten past six on Monday. Have a great weekend bloggers.

We enjoyed the opportunity to be 21 again tonight. I always thought the music of my era (1986) was great but on hearing some of the number ones I'm not so sure. I suspect it was more that the stuff I was listening to had no chance of ever making it to the top of the charts.

I'm still finding the whole twitter thing quite confusing but thanks to Capt Ramius for keeping us right on the difference between a page, a feed and a stream . Tomorrow night's theme comes from Joe the Jam man and was inspired by the last space shuttle flight. The theme is ...... ( Man, how much did I want to type the word 'space' right here!) and is finality. So as NASA winds down it's space shuttle programme we will be playing things like The Last Waltz, The End of the Line and It's Over. Our batteries could do with recharging after a super-busy 'electricity' show tonight. Hope you enjoyed the music and the lessons in space exploration that came fro Norrie, Miss B and our friends at NASA. For me, Bonnie Raitt was the highlight of tonight's show although Danger High Voltage was a great way to kick off the show.
Following on from last week's theme of 'songs that were number one when you were born' Eric Zoha suggested we do 'songs that were number one when you turned 21'. I'll start you off with Dr and The Medics doing Spirit In The Sky - and if you think that's dodgy I am just glad I wasn't born prematurely or else it would have been The Chicken Song from Spitting Image.

Lovely show tonight and hearing some of those songs again has made me want to dig out the DVDs. Some inspired suggestions including Anthony Newly and also thought the Lemon Pipers track was good. Local hero was a great way to end. It was requested by a couple who were out on Luskentyre Beach in Harris which Kirsten tells me is one of the most beautiful in the country. To prove it here's a Caribbean-esque photo that she took there. We are now on Twitter as well as all the usual ways to get in touch so I hope we can get some of our regular bloggers tweeting us @bbcgetiton. That was one of the most fun shows in a long time. I would go as far as to say I loved being part of the show tonight. As I said on air, it could only have been more fun if we were all gathered together in one place and I could have had the opportunity to see the joy on listener's faces when the penny dropped on some of the most cryptic clues. We certainly had a brilliant laugh in the studio. Tomorrow's theme is songs that remind you of a particular scene in a movie. Rather than just list songs from a movie it would be great if you could tell us a bit about the scene and why you thought the music worked. There are some songs that were made more memorable after being featured in classic films and there are many of us who have gone out and made purchases after hearing songs for the first time in powerful scenes.

First it was the phones, the text, the mighty blog, Facebook and now....Twitter. At long last get It On has a twitter page. You can find it by searching for @bbcgetiton. I hope it's going to be a really quick way for you to interact with the programme when we are on air.

Of course, the blog is still brilliant for those more considered contributions and also for the banter that flows so brilliantly on this page. But when we are on air, it's obviously those methods which update instantly that are more useful. It goes without saying that in the end it doesn't matter how you get in touch, all that matters is what you ask for.

Monday's theme should be fun as it gives you all a chance to be brilliantly creative. Instead of sending song titles, send your suggestions in the form of a crossword clue. Ask for whatever you like as long as we can solve it then it has a chance of getting played. Who knows maybe the '17th century agriculturist existing in yesteryear' may make it to the show!

Katy Perry recently managed seven but still lags behind Michael Jackson's nine. I'm talking about the most singles taken from one album. Jackson's tally came from BAD and it's only when you are reminded that there were only ten tracks on the album that you realise what an achievement it was to get so many hit singles from the one album. Alternatively you might be thinking what a money grabbing rip off it was to release nine out of ten tracks as singles.

Either way, Friday's theme celebrates those albums that were packed full of hits. the ones that were so good that every track could have been a single. Fleetwood Mac's Rumours and Amy Winehouse's Back to Black spring to mind for me.What are your top single spawning albums?

Thursday's theme is 'musical pairs' which has been suggested by The Meek Family. The deal is that you pick two artists whose names can be paired, so that could include: Simply Red and Deacon Blue, Squeeze and Tight Fit or maybe Europe and America. It's going to be based on name only rather than on two artists who can be paired up due to their musical similarity, although I think that idea has merit as a future theme. What do you think? Dream collaborations perhaps?

Tomorrow's show is much more straightforward as all I want to know is what was number one on the day you were born?

I think we must have covered every kind of rock n roll tonight and with artist ranging from Kay Starr to Led Zep, the music was never dull. Tuesday's theme was inspired by a guy I bumped into in the canteen last week. He was desperate to let me hear a track which he said was amazing and when he listened to the CD it took him back to a trip he once made to Venezuela where the song was played all the time on the radio. It's about 9 minutes long so they must have been pretty adventurous radio stations.. That got me thinking about music which takes you to a particular place. It could be songs you associate with holiday, songs that make you think of home or maybe even songs that are so evocative that they conjure up images of a place you've never even been.

Thanks to everyone who contributed across the week, we had some good suggestions come in. Tonight's show threw up a lot more bands than I thought we were going to get along with some interesting suggestions for the 'less obvious' hits - Rip Her To Shreds was a standout for me. On Monday we are doing a theme which was originally suggested by Paolo on the blog. It's songs with Rock n Roll in the title so expect it to be a busy night. There's Rock n Roll Suicide, Rock n Roll Woman and Rock n Roll I Gave You The Best years of My Life, which most of us have! From Marley to Mozart and from Chuck Berry to The Chilli Peppers, once again GIO listeners have proved they have the most diverse taste in music. I still get a thrill from the fact we can get away with playing all those different kinds of music on one show.

On Friday we mark the 1948 anniversary of the US air force accepting its first female recruits by featuring the girls who have made it in a so-called boys world. From Debbie Harry to Siouxsie Sioux the theme is all about the women who are the lone female in an all male line-up.

Tonight's bohemian extravaganza threw up some interesting choices and a real mix of tunes. Thankfully we had some real oddities so Joss Stone and her allegedly bohemian barefoot antics never made it to air! Tomorrow we are marking the anniversiry of sliced bread ( no joke) by asking you one very simple question... who do you think is the best thing since sliced bread? Pick one artist only and the most convincing nominations will get played on the show.

Here's a bit of useless trivia for you: On this day in 1609, Bohemia was granted freedom of religion. It essentially means that a state allows the practice of other religions other than the state religion. To celebrate this momentous date in history we will base Wednesday's theme on the movement to which the good people of Bohemia lent their name.

According to Wikipedia, "Bohemianism is the practice of an unconventional lifestyle, often in the company of like-minded people...involving musical, artistic or literary pursuits."

You will guess from that description that The Osmonds are unlikely to feature. However it could be argued that any kind of pop star's life is unconventional. What I'm looking for are those really interesting artists who live on the margins. I realise that we are essentially a mainstream music show but every now and then it's good to bring in a few folk from the fringes. Let's see what bohemians you come up with then...

Continuing our week of themes inspired by events in history, tomorrow's theme is inspired by the birth, or rather the cloning of Dolly the sheep. We'll be asking for your suggestions of cloned acts. CSNY surely spawned The Fleet Foxes and there must be a bit of Karen Carpenter's DNA in Rumer?

They can either be look alikes or sound alikes, it's up to you. Do let me know if you would prefer the original act or the cloned one...

All next week we're going back in history with some themes inspired by historical events. Not all of them are events of great significance but stay tuned and you may learn something fascinating about the history of sliced bread. Monday's event is the birth of Bill Withers and we are taking inspiration from his song Lovely Day. We'll be repeating ourselves (and no I don't mean we're doing 'space again!) by featuring those songs which put their lyrics on a loop. Lovely Day was a good example of the power of a repeated phrase but there are loads of others. Message In A Bottle features Sting singing the same line repeatedly but works really well. Hot Chip did it over and over and over again as did 2 Unlimited with No Limits but I suspect the latter may have limited appeal for our beloved bloggers.
