Tonight was a chance to give credit to the un-credited like Annie Watkins, David Williams and ...er... George Michael. I think we played a lot of suggestions from the blog tonight but I think it was a theme much more suited to the longer form of the blog rather than the limited responses on Twitter etc. I hope you get the chance to spread the word about our Twitter account. It's @³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖGETITON.
It was a fascinating show tonight but I don't think it can compete with Mary Ann and her Balkan bagpiping. Here's the I found of a man playing a set made out of a goat!
Tomorrow marks the start of the 'one year to go' countdown to the Olympics. To celebrate we are going to do 'one' as a theme. From One Love to One in ten, you know how it works bloggers...
Having been a "member" of this blog for nigh on 18 months, I've realised I'm starting to repeat myself and fear that, if I ever had anything unusual, new or interesting to add, I no longer do. So I've decided to face the fear head on and just suggest music I'd like to hear, so long as it fits the theme, somehow, however uninspired or boring it may seem.
Randy Crawford One Day I'll Fly Away A song I've always loved - Randy has one of the loveliest voices. Sweet yet powerful, the sound is full of emotion and much more nuanced and genuine than the divas who seem to think it's enough to work their way through the octaves....... Crowded House Four Seasons In One Day Love this lot - I may have said that before - it's the compassion and emotional intelligence of the lyrics combined with the beauty of the musical arrangements I like. Michael Jackson One Day In Your Life Michael at his best. Barf time - it's one of the few songs that always makes me stop and listen when it comes on unexpectedly. Enough of that already. UB40 One In Ten Ok - it's a klaxon because they've mentioned it in the lead-in. But it's one well worth hearing, time and again. The unemployment figures probably aren't much better now than when this was first released, so it's also still relevant.
Really enjoyed last nights show. For trivia heids like me it was an eye opener. However if last nights show was blog oriented then tonight is for the masses. The last time this theme was on i remarked it would be as well asking for song titles with letters in them or bands that start with The.
Numbers have been done manye wsy back times before but how about a theme of numbers greater than twenty.
Off today and out for a drive wherever the jalopy takes us so no doubt will be lidtening on the way back.
One and one is one / medicine head Might as well get my moneys worth.
Medicine Head - One and One is One Sparks - The Number One Song in Heaven Hothouse Flowers - One Tongue Boomtown Rats - Looking After Number One Edwyn Collins - One Is a Lonely Number

I've never felt these 80's fans like our Bryan have ever properly understood or acknowledged that the decade owes much to McCartney 2 - an album made at home in 1979 as a demo of some songs that ended up being the album.
