The
fountain was built by Richard Meade. |
- There
is a fountain in the centre of West Derby Village.
- It
was commissioned many years ago by Richard Meade so that
the village people could have a drink of water whenever
they liked.
- There
is a lamp on the top of the fountain. Years ago the lamp
was lit at night.
- It
is still standing in 2002.
Engraved
on the fountain are these words:
We
think it is a reminder that water is better than alcohol.

Jessica, Rebecca, Anna.
