Interview with Felicity Baker a past pupil

"I stared at Blackmoor Park Junior School in 1994.
Mrs Collinson was my year 3 teacher. I remember it felt strange going from being the top year in infants, to being the youngest year in the juniors.
"

How long ago were you in this school?
"I was in this school from 1994 to 1998."

Did you like it here?
"Yes of course I did ! It was great"

What was your teachers name?
"In year 3 Mrs Collinson
In year 4 Mrs Martin
In year 5 Miss Burgess
In year 6 Mrs Russel"

"In year 4 I was in Mrs Martin's class. I remember going on a trip to Pex Hill. My mum came as a helper and I really enjoyed it. "

Were you upset when you left the school?
"I was because I was leaving all my friends behind."

Who was your head teacher and are they still here?
"No, Mrs Wilson was and she was great."

"In year 5 I was in Mrs Burgess' class. That year, in science, we were looking at space and the planets. We were taken to the Planetarium at Liverpool Museum. I really enjoyed the trip and the topic."

Were you in any sports teams or clubs?
"No I wasn't in sports teams or clubs but I was in the choir, drama group and orchestra."

What has changed since you have left?
"Lots have changed - the carpets, the stage, the bomb shelters and much, much more."

"In year 6 I was in Miss Russell's class. For your class assembly we used the theme of the Victorians. We all had to read the poem "The Charge of the Light Brigade" together and I can still remember some of it. I was chosen to be on the school committee for class. We had to take the Friday morning assembly. It was hard work but good fun."

Would you send you children here?
"Yes because I have been here myself and so I know what it is like."

Did you ever go on any great trips?
"Yes - when we went to Croxteth Hall we got to dress up like Tudors and it was really fun."

"When I was in years 5 and 6 I was in the drama group, the choir and the orchestra. I was the narrator in the 1997 Christmas play called Sheik, Rattle and Roll. I sang at the Philharmonic Hall with the choir and lots of other schools. I also played the drums at St George's Hall with the Orchestra. I really enjoyed most of my time at Blackmoor and was sad when I had to leave."

Did you play an instrument - if so which one?
"I played the drum in the orchestra but I never learnt to play properly."
