The Night Weaver
When in sleep,
Look out upon the night gallery
At a portrait of pale yellow porousness
Hung, door-knobbed above the earth
When in sleep,
Awake in sleep in deaf fields
Synapses fed are thread
From our stair climbed beds
When in sleep,
The weaver, the night weaver
Hides behind the porous moon
And threads our dreams
Millions of silent swirling dreams
Woven through the funnel loom
And somewhere on my own island
I see the shadows of a red rose
Rise between the folds and swoon.
