Rhythm 'n' Rhyme Showcase

A Silent Cry

They awake each morning to a cloudless sky

With empty stomachs and throats so dry

The truth is at birth to this they were born

But there for the grace of God goes anyone.

They scour the earth for something to eat

While we do picnic as a treat

Could we for one day the positions exchange,

And they from our glorious bounty partake

Could we exist on a handful of grain

Mixed up with foul water taken from a drain

Could we sit for hours silently waiting

For mankind to help or for God to take us

To a place where all men are the same

From an unfair world so insane,

Could we look at our children, eyes ever knowing

That the chances of our seeing them growing

Are in the hands of people who

Only crave designer shoes from Choo.
