We had a really happy time at new year, party-ing long into the night.

This year's party season had that defiant 'let's face the music and dance' feel about it. Mrs Merkel says it's inappropriate to wish everyone a prosperous new year, so let's hope it's no worse than 2011.

Dancing to stand still, it turns out, might have been reason enough to put the champagne on ice.

Didn't hear the Bryan and Janice show - hope it went well..was it on the telly too?

Even though the band split up a few years ago, IMMACULATE FOOLS certainly deserve more air play. One particular song by this band has just sprung to my mind and has a very catchy guitar solo: 'Never give less than everything'. This song features on their album 'Dumb Poet'

There will doubtless be a deserved groundswell of support for Rory Gallagher and count me in for that - but it would be nice to hear something from his gentle accoustic side: Just The Smile or Wheels Within Wheels from last years postumously released "Notes From SanFrancisco".If it's more uptempo there is a fabulous track called Persuasion which lets you understand why he was such a special talent - it's very radio freiendly too, so check it out, team. Jimi Hendrix was right, Rory was the best - Noel and Liam must be every proud.
