Interesting - a couple of weeks ago we were totally astonished when Graeme Stewart admitted he'd never heard Rocky Raccoon.

Guess what - Edith's just discovered Stevie Winwood was in Taffic and The Spencer Davis Group.We've all been in love with 'I'm a Man' since 1967.

Don't you think they should get some of us auld yin's to produce these shows?

Great show from Edith tonight. Even Laurie Anderson sounded great. Can you imagine the authorities reaction if a campaign started to put that at the top of the charts?

Another example of how the less obvious tracks make great radio. Vic later played a track by a band called Broken Bells. Magic.

When will GIO get the message that a good format can be made great by paying attention to what's being requested at the margin.

I know, though I usually get waxed before I go swimming, so I don't have to worry about my hair.

I must suggest this simple but effective method to the ladies down at the pool next week.
Perhaps by way of thanks they'll sign up to the HH GIO Dreadzone campaign. Though I fear some may get confused and wonder why you're running a campaign for long unbrushed hair and advocating waxing at the same time.

Well, I guess you've been getting Clifford T flung at you since 1972?

I've always had a soft spot for it because it came out just before the name 'Gaye' became eternally changed along with the changed meaning of the word 'gay'.

Listening to it now, I was taken aback that the lyric doesn't especially match the rather dreamy hippie - trippy musical delivery, I have to say - it sounds a bit attitudinaly chauvinist. Proof that it's not just common parlance that moves on, but attitudes too.
