Yesterday was lovely on Mull - after so many days of rain with only the odd glimpse of sun, I had forgotten what it looked like! So off we went to Calgary - when we arrived we were the only ones - it was fantastic - Hannah through wellies and socks off and was paddling - would love to show the picture but feel a bit uncomfortable about putting her picture on the internet - so many odd people about if you get my meaning! She, Jessie and I had a whale of a time! We came the long way back via Ulva Ferry - the sea was dead calm and mirror like - and yes, we have snow on Mull - albeit right at the summit of Ben More - but it is there! A great day and all cobwebs duly blown away.
Sun setting over Loch Na Keal
Loch Na Keal
Snow at the very top of Ben More!
The Sound of Ulva
Buzzard with mantled wings - cant quite see whether he/she has something between the claws!
Jessie swimming in the sea in December! She is 12 yrs old and arthritic but does she care??"

A frosty Mull!
Posted: Wednesday, 19 December 2007 |
Well, its been fantastic here - the bluest skies without a cloud but by eck its cold! the frost is around all day and almost looks like snow! But its great - at least you get put lots of layers on - makes walking the dog a pleasure. This will be our first Christmas on Mull and my daugher is near to exploding point - it doesnt help that her birthday is on New Year's Day (note to parents - please plan better next time!!). I have dreamt about christmas on Mull but never knew when it would be and its coming true - the funny thing is you could bypass Christmas here if you wanted to - you can make as much or as little fuss as you wish - not like back South where even going for a pint of milk you had to battle with crowds and tinsel! Our 7 months on Mull have been wonderful - there have been ups and some downs - the price of petrol! distance from friends and relatives but the phone gets used more and email is a godsend!
In case I dont get a chance between now and the big day I would like to wish all Island Bloggers a happy Christmas and a peaceful, healthy and prosperous New Year.
