Mulled wine? (save me, y'all)!! # Glad you and family are happy, Wild Freckle. Price of petrol: can you bike on Mull? or is the island too hilly? an old fashion 50 cc Honda bike could come in handy? The dog could even go along. I have seen dogs in the Netherlands ride the motor bike's rear seat with aplomb.

You have no idea how jealous I am. I would move lock, stock and barrel now if it was possible. Just have to be content just now with your blogs and my twice yearly visits. Cheers for the photos.

Brilliant photos - thanks - but very jealous now. Not coming up for Christmas - is that a big mistake I wonder? Hope you have a brilliant first Christmas on Mull.

50cc bike by Mr Honda, great idea mjc. I started off hating the idea in my teens british iron was the only thing ( apart from those rather splendid italian fire engines). Then I got one and was blown away by the engineering. BTW WF I think your oystercatcher is a redshank.

thank you everyone for your kind comments - its just nice to know that someone actually looks at your blogs in this mad busy world! Tindra I now know who you are - we have a mutual acquaintance! Whizz!!! I also work in Lochdon so familiar with your patch!! Merry Christmas!
Wild Freckle from Mull - not so frosty today!
WF, thanks for a great blog and pix. You strengthen my resolve to experience island life in the not too distant future. All strength to you adn the family, not forgetting the dog.

Talk about coincidences!! Very spooky! Had a wet, dull Christmas day here yesterday, but today bright, sunny and frosty. Any more snow on the tops yet?

I always read your blogs, Wild Freckle - your pics are lovely. I hope you and your family had a lovely Christmas. What a great place to be. I shall be on the island on Sunday. It's been a long wait but it will be worth it. Iz

Su'nuf, Hyper-B.: a redshank that oystercatcher turns out to be (kidding: what do I know about birds?! Ever since the Dodo died, I have given up bird-spotting...)

Hyper B - sorry but you may think its a redshank but I know its an Oystercatcher!
Wild Freckle from Mull
It's looking a bit browned off!

Would you folks cool it? What bird book are you using?! Any birder worth a pair of binoculars would know it's an ivory billed woodpecker. Gimme a break.
