Climate change - global warming.

News flash : Scotsman Sept2nd,1935 :-
The "labour day hurricane" hit Florida
Keys, killing 423.
Recent weather patterns have wreacked
havock throught Scotland, disturing
travel and causing one of the worst
farming disasters in memory.
Was climate-change and global-warming a known global phenomenon 69 years ago or were hurricanes part of the usual weather pattern?
Or is it a fact that hurricanes, floods etc are getting more prominent in the 21st century due to pollution having increased considerably? How do we address this rape of the global atmosphere and save our planet from another age of long term disaster.
Is renewable energy in the form of wind farms the answer or part of it? Must we pay a lesser toll as regards world countryside than maybe an unalterable outlay of hopelessness.

Global Warming.

I hardly believe that global warming appeared from nowhere but was infact humanly induced. Since 1800 the concentration of carbon dixoide in the atmosphere has increased by 30%.
I have no reason to disbelieve this measurment. My common sense tells me now that more than just a few issues are amiss in the world at large.
For example: the Summers are out of kelter alternating between very warm and cool. The Winters strangely enough warmer. How is it that the grass stays green and flowers that should appear in March and April come forth in February.
Some might say that I could be havering a bit, but could it be that I am experiencing, in no small way, something that is becoming a stagger global occurrance. It requires that we pay attention.
At this juncture I would mention America and how she should give attention to the kyoto agreement. At the same time it is important that Britain should continue to develop the renewable energy programme.
We are not going to desecrate the countryside. For a start if we treat it wisely, we could end up beating pollution - WORLDWIDE.

In Good Faith.

In the not too distant past, I took it upon myself to write blogs on renewable energy and the climate problem -climate change. both issues are relevent not just in global terms but to the integral make up of this country.
Recently renewable energy has become a part of our daily way of life resulting in an ardent dispute between those for and those against, and a certain amount of confusion being evident as well.
I myself have made it clear, from time to time, that I'm behind the use of wind energy to meet certain desirable and necessary ends. That is, of course despite the objections of those who often give the impression that argument purely for its own sake proves anything worthy.
In view of global warming and climate change wind power must be given due consideration. And this country's requirement for clean electricity, at the necessary cost, gives us the opportunity to prove that our hopes for the future remain viable.

Out In The Open.

I have been involved in the enjoyable game of blogging for a considerable time now, during which, for most of the time, renewable energy has been my theme.I have made it clear that I back the introduction of wind farms as an acceptable provider of this countrys electrical requirements.
This is ok, but there comes ,I believe, a point where I must commit myself to making clear my feelings as regards such a project in a personal context. And this means purely;how would I feel with a wind farm at my back door.
First of all, I must point out that I live on a small island that could possibly only tolerate a limitated number of turbines without getting swamped. It, therefore cannot be compared with a vast area of country side.
But with due consideration to the above I would not hesitte to assert that I would consider it quite acceptable to have,in close proximity, at least a few "slender giants" providing the much required power with an aim towards a clean atmosphere.
