Welcome back. Glad you're feeling better just now.

Hello Island Wanderer ... I have found that it becomes a little detrimental to my psychological well-being to keep up with too much news ... There was a time when I would have slapped my face and hauled myself up kicking and screaming by the bootstraps, just to become a responsive and well-informed, opinionated member of the population ... I used to believe that was so important ... These days, I gravitate towards thinking that I need to view my own life as *reality*, and view everything else, especially stuff that comes through media filters, as an optional sort of series of play-acting tableaux ... Defeatist perhaps ... Escapism maybe ... But I believe I have a duty to myself to choose what I fill my mind with ... I do pick and choose the news I read - this is the excellent option that online news gives us - we don't have to read a paper from cover to cover any more ... Its good to Blog ...!! I find that sometimes, there are just so many words in my head that they have to overflow into somewhere, and blogging takes the pressure off 'me mates' ... !!

Yes, it is hard to keep up with the news when you get older but it is not important to be very clever about it all. Just read what you want to read- no strain. "It's good to blog" Island Wanderer.

Apart from doing your own Blog, island wanderer, you could contribute to the others. A dig here, a compliment there, brackets everywhere: questions and surprises galore. So, take good care, and let us hear from you.
