I agree Wanderer, my only worry is that we are suffering from rose tinted spectacles. Do we remember the good old days like we only take photos on a sunny day???
Robert from Islay
Glad you agree, Robert from Islay, as I look forward to such support.Last Summer was a disaster and it appears that climatic changes are going to be the norm in the future.
Island Wanderer from Tiree from The Summer that has been!!!
It's been a fantastic summer on Arran! Why is everyone suddenly so miserable? It is October now after all. We had a beach BBQ every Sunday this summer going on late into the night with people sleeping on the beach (with one burning his bum!). The BBQ's went on right into September. I took loads of days off work I couldn't really afford because I wanted to climb a mountain (pointells in wet weather due to low visibility) or lie on the beach and swim in the sea, which I did lots of. The viking trip to Largs was 3rd September and painfully hot! I've got a cracking tan and haven't been off the island most of the summer. Look at the photos I've posted, not one rain drop and shorts on in most of them. Crikey, come on it's can't just be Arran that has had a scorcher?
Sunny from Arran
Sunny from Arran, Nice to have a comment from you. Arran must have been truly blessed this year weather wise; doubt if this can be said for Scotland in general; certainly not for Tiree. I think that it is a well known fact that the weather has detioriated in the last decade at least. For example the way crops are now harvested goes to prove a change; traditional methods would hardlly be a success now. Unfortunately my knowledge of Arran is so poor and I can only take your word for its climate and no doubt you are right regarding the past year. Lets hope that I'll have a better report next year; although I somehow doubt it. In trouth!!!
