Hi Island Wanderer. I am going to have to ask another question on a topic which has left me confused. An answer would be nice but I can understand if you wish to maintain your air of mystery. After looking at the times when you posted your blogs it looks suspiciously like your in a different time zone.........am I right Island Wanderer ?

There seems to be an element of dreamland here, Island Wanderer. Could it also be possible to realise that Earth has managed to cope without the humanoid species for billions of years and why should she change her ways to save us? Ultimately, I should like to suggest that all this is really ULTIMATELY about is saving the human race, not anything else - why else does the destruction beyond repair of existing habitats have to serve to provide these objects of a paltry 25 year lifespan and that cost huge amounts of energy (not all renewable if you look at Denmark's sources) to manufacture, even more to install (but of course fall less to cover up at the end because you cannot replace destroyed habitats that have taken thousands if not millions of years to create (and some of which are valuable carbon sinks in their own right)? Humans think they are gods, but they aren't - they are worth just as much or as little as every species on the planet and no more, in terms of the planet's survival.
Much has been said about the panic of saving cities like London from increased flooding - some of this may be down to global climate changes, but I notice that most ignore a fundamental fact of physics: isostatic re-adjustment caused by the ice ages. Put simply, the huge weight of ice fields made the north and northwest of what we know as GB sink under the weight whilst the ice free south/south east rose - it's simply sorting out the balance now the ice has retreated. Any child with some weights and a pair of scales can sort this out. Apparently, intelligent adults are incapable of realising some things are beyond our paltry species' control.

I know blogging and reading blogs is addictive, especially now there is so little day but you are looking a bit anorak-like if you check that much detail. I used to find blogging at 2 am very therapeutic after a tough session behind the bar, but I couldn't raise any enthusiasm at six in the morning. I wrote this on Thursday, I wonder when you will be able to read it?

I will feel even more foolish if I.W. gives us some inside news on the proposed community windfarm on Tiree as mentioned on the H.I.E. website. That would blow my hypothesis about time zones out of the water.

I,ll try and answer your comment just as it stands. I don't doubt that for billions of years the earth has been ok. But I don't believe it's a matter of the earth having to change its ways but if we are going to survive as a species.We must deal with our abuse of the earth which is indeed about saving the human race and our duty to future generations.
As regards the destruction of precious habitats is concerned, I can't truly imagine it; in my view this must be at a minimum. The long term objectives of a clean atmospere remain.
I always thought Denmark, that you mentioned it, was a leading light as regards Wind Farms and that she has provided us with useful knowledge and to our benefit.
Really, it is not a matter of destroying habitats that have been for aeons, but of making a constructive use of a fairly small part of such provisions as are available to deal with the problem looming before us, endangering the continued wellbeing of man and his surroundings.
(We are not going to survive as we would desire if we don't act now).
We must consider in a democracy that as a seat of such London must get priority as regards the saving factor. Indeed priority remains with the main cities; population denseties demand it so, I'd expect.
As far as isostatic readjustment is concerned I'm a bit out of my depth.
Finally I'd say; it is not about species control but giving humanity a chance of a normal world with a clean atmosphere again,

I'm not sure intelligent pairs well with adult, however I want you to know nothing is beyond my control if I choose to concentrate enough. I know for certain London is sinking (in lots of ways) but I blame the politicians, simply too much hot air down there. People simply aren't meant to live that close together. My biggest fear is that too many folk will discover how much better it is up here with the room. I wonder if the wind turbines aren't just a tool to discourage people moving here.

Hi Nic, oooo鈥llow me a little fun please, I don鈥檛 think conspiracy theory is quite where I was heading. My over elaborate attempt to tease out a few hard facts or first hand knowledge would seem to be a worthwhile aim but clearly my attempt has been misconstrued. I acknowledged your comment the other day, but it doesnt seem to have got through. Yes, I do seem to have odd nocturnal habits. I often do my blogs between midnight and eight in the morning. If I do my blogs the previous night they come up as for that day, whereas after midnight, they are issued on that very days date. I trust that my explination is sufficient. Congratulations for being so observant,
