One on one...
What have Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter, Tainted Love and Telstar got in common? The answer lies in tomorrow's theme which is the artists who only got to top the charts once. There are some surprising names on that list - Dusty Springfield being one of them. Get in touch via the blog and let me know your suggestions of the acts who only had one number one.

PS it was nice to have the bloggers mentioned in such glowing terms tonight - as serious music buffs -... as it happens I do have some DVD's of The Old Grey Whistle Test - and I applaud Julie for pointing out our eclecticism. Among my favourite OGWT clips is of Bonnie Raitt doing 'Too Long At The Fair' and Bob Marley's 'Stir It Up'
Incredibly, neither ( Marley in particular) had a number one hit - though Marley's I Shot The Sheriff was a number one for Eric Clapton in 1974 in the States - Clapton's only number one hit.

It was Roxy Music's tribute to John Lennon a cover of his 'Jealous Guy' and this song is Roxy Music's (or even Bryan Ferry solo) only number one to date. 2 weeks at the top, 10 and 17th March 1981.
