That's the very ones, Senga - I think they compliment my bike and the rest of the garb and, of course,the pale skin tones.

I take my time in the evening - turn up the ipod and peddle away - after another bonkers day here it's easy to lose concentration on the nutters making their way from the city to Milngavie, made all the more hazardous en route by the lemmings that congregate on Maryhill Road in the early evening.Why more people aren't killed is a mystery to me.I've been cycling 14 miles a day for the last week or so and my weight has gone up! I'm gutted.

I do take a shower and listen to Get It On whilst doing so and then text any requests when I emerge, radiant and happy, like a leader of the Tory party..

Knackered, I fall asleep listening to Radio 6. Very good it is too, musically speaking, but not really entertaining. I heard a great track by the Would Be's from an old Peel session last night, but cant source it.I'm gutted.

Anyway, in the morning I get up and do it all again.

And the philosophy is: do what you can, where you are, with what you've got - which is what Roosevelt told America at the height of the great depression and it's kinda useful in the times we live in.
