In Lord Reith's day, evening dress would have been de rigueur.

There's even a chappie with his hand in a pocket! Dearie me...

Indeed Scotch Git, standards have undoubtedly slipped, however in the blessed Lord Reith's day a man wielding a handheld camera would have been unlikely to hove surprisingly into view in a radio studio, with the resulting images being visible to the world within hours! And I suspect in his day any choir members allowed anywhere near BH would have been independently wealthy and able to saunter along at their leisure, whereas we, alas, are forced to work to earn a crust and we all came pretty much straight from the coalface, so to speak, with hardly a moment to cram a mince pie or two into our faces, never mind don fancy dress!

As for our colleague with a cold hand, well, we shall have words and take steps to ensure no repeat of this foul transgression!
