Next week's themes...
I thought that 'songs your parents forced you to listen to' was one of the most enjoyable shows of the week. A great theme and some lovely contributions from you all. Thanks very much. It prompted GillianÌýand K.BarnettÌýto text in to suggest the opposite as a theme and we'll do that this Thursday.
As always get in touch via the blog, our Facebook page, or why not email in your suggestions...
Monday
It's another very live and interactive bank holiday special. This time it's 5,4,3,2,1! We'll start with a five word song title, and then you get in touch with a four word title, followed by a three word, a two and finally a one. I'm going to ask our bloggers only to pick the first five word title to open the show, so it's over to you folks....
Tuesday
Mike in Shropshire has suggested a theme of 'artists with famous relatives' for tonight. His list includes Lilly Allen, Kirsty McColl and Kris Drever. But, who is going to be on your list of well connected pop stars. Get in touch and let me know...
Wednesday
Kenny in Lanark has suggested that the old playground game of Paper, Scissors, Stone would be a good theme. We could have Paperback Writer, Rock Lobster or perhaps something like Rip It Up. It can be songs or band names so tune in for a game of Paper Lace, Scissor Sisters and The Rolling Stones...
Thursday
After last week's 'songs your parents forced you to listen to', Gillian in Gala and K.Barnett from the Broch have bothÌýsuggested we do the opposite this week and feature the songs that your kids forced you to listen to. I think it's a brilliant twist on the theme. The gigs your kids made you endure and the songs that are on repeat play through the bedroom door...

Here are my Tuesday suggestions (duly noting Joe's great list):
Neill Maccoll was in the band The Bible with Boo Hewerdine, his brother Calum also played in this group on the odd occassion. Together they played on Nanci Griffith's Storms lp. Neill is a favourite of mine and still works with Boo, played on the last couple of David Gray albums and is touring with him and released a great album with Kathryn Williams. Neill and Calum are of course brothers to Kirsty and son of Ewan. The song I would pick is not one of Neills though, but one written by Calum and Eddi Reader
Eddi Reader - Darkhouse, a brilliant record.
Brian Wilson has a slightly less well known brother, Dennis, Pacific Ocean Blue is a great album. Farewell My Friend is a great track but River Song would be a good pick too:
Dennis Wilson - River Song
I presume we will get Jeff Buckley and Hallelujah, as an alternative Dad and
Tim Buckley - Song To The Siren, memorably covered by This Mortal Coil and Robert Plant.
Flash 'n The Pan - Waiting On A Train. One half of the duo is George Young, brother of Angus and Malcolm, the other is Harry Vanda, both were in the Easybeats when they wrote this classic as covered by Bowie:
David Bowie - Friday On My Mind
Finally, but I think possibly best of all.....
Maria McKee is the half brother of Bryan Maclean from Love.
Maria McKee - Opelousas (Sweet Relief) this is fantastic
and I did not even mention Mrs Springsteen. But if I did it would be Rumble Doll.....ooops.

My sister-in-law (the one I should have married) had a gorgeous red Mustang that she loved to bits.
She is also an exception to your rule. Wee Barbara resembled Big Barbara so strongly it was spooky.

1) Alas, no. Barbara was married already. She's on her 2nd husband now.
2) No. I'd like to say it was a lorra lorra fun. But I can't.
3) Big Barbara was my mother-in-law. Not that she was bigger than Wee Barbara. Just older. (And wider). Maybe we should have called them Auld Barbara and Young Barbara.
