I'm sorry Wild Freckle, but, unless, like another blogger here in Orkney, you only want anodyne, aggreeing comments, you're not going to like this one. You've gone to live in another place. It's only one week out of 52? Enjoy the atmosphere! It's like people who move here and complain bitterly at the ever-more beleagured farmers spreading slurry in fields next their homes. Live with it! Parental units once lived right next to the Manx Southern Hundred course: they shut Old Cats (who were young at the time) in and made the most of it. And then moved to an estate within a short walk of the TT course... Too many people 'get away from it all' and then want to change the place to thier own idea of an ossified utopia. I like your blog adn hope you don't take offence, but this is something I feel VERY strongly about.
Flying Cat from in a fluff
Hi FC - not offended at all - after all free speech etc - I in turn agree with you - I am living with it and accept it - its more worry about the cat, someone getting flattened - I just dont get all the excitement - that's where I think its a man thing! Believe I dont want to change the island - we moved here warts and all - like everything there are good and bad points and you accept the whole package - methinks hormones maybe influencing today too! Pepper says purrr from the green settee!
Wild Freckle from Mull
Hi Wild Freckle, as the FC says...live with it. We on Tiree have the World Proffessional windsurfing championships on the Island at the moment...90% of us look forward to event, the other 10% usually hide. While it is not quite as noisey as the IMR it still has a big affect on the islands 'pace'. (the cats seem quite happy with the occasion)

The cats on Tiree are probably not in any danger of being flattened by a surfboard! Very handsome of you Wild Freckle...
Flying Cat from up with Free Squeaks!
Hi Freckle! Don't worry - it will pass. There a couple of options. Become addicted to eating Tunnocks Teacakes ( staple diet for me in my distant childhood) or go visiting on the mainland during rally!!!! love m

Tunnocks tea cake from mull
I have always loved tunnocks tea cakes - I was looking forward to wee one coming home from school with her Tunnocks goody bag - but quelle horreur! not a tea cake but a caramel wafer - no substitute I say! I would love to do the tea cake eating competition though!
Wild Freckle from Where's my teacake??
Personally I prefer the caramel wafers.
