Well, any normal person would have done the cleaning first :-) Lucky you to see a golden eagle! Thanks.

No wonder a womans work is never done. I hope that MM isn't leading you astray. Did you change your name? I've got a wild freckle.

where hae you been tws??? been getting worried about you!
tws's weather girl from glad to see your back
I fully approve, very sensible, going out instead of doing houswork. After all, the housework will still be there when ye get back, the good enough to be out in weather might not...in fact knowing the isles, will definately not...:-)

Got confused when setting up blog - name should have been Wild freckle instead of Great Escape - hopefully corrected now - spose I could be Wildfreckle who did the Great Escape?? Co-op lorry last seen getting on the ferry at Craignure to who knows where!!
Wild Freckle from Mull
Absolutely, you made the right choice. And if normal folk do the hoosework first, then I doot I'm no normal either.

Ruthie babe, we all knew that you weren't normal, you didn't need to tell us, but now it's there for everybody to see. Three words keep coming into my head. Pot, Kettle, Black, I dunno why??

think I need to see photographic evidence o this clean kitchen.

Oh how I wish I could put housework into the 'must do tomorrow' file. I blame it on my Mother who always said don't put off until tomorrow what you should do today ... [one lesson that must have sunk in] ... a new resolution!!!! From how on I will do tomorrow what I could have done today!
Plaid from in an almost clean room
Its 13.15 and so far I have done the loo and bathroom and cleaned out the fishtank - there is a sea eagle sitting on the rocks in front of the house (too far for my little camera) - what is a girl to do??
Wild Freckle from Mull - with housework still not done!
In our kitchen we have a clean as you go policy, or leave it up to Herself to do it, whichever one suits. Plaid sometimes with parents, you've got to let them make their own choices in life, let them learn from their mistakes, but be their for them, if things turn out badly. Although if parents are living with children, they should obey the house rules, like being in at a reasonable time at night, and if they're staying with a friend, they should at least call you, to let you know. It's hard, you never stop worrying about them, and I know that.

Hi Wild Freckle - MM here - good to see you blogging! Loads of fun! Looking forward to more posts. Bye! MM

If you've been properly brought up on Wind In The Willows the housework/springcleaning option doesn't enter into it...Mole had it just right..."Hang Spring cleaning!" he said and went off on his adventures.
Flying Cat from not dusting
amazing what being without a car can do for female staff - stuck at home on thursday she was. Did she fuss and pet me? Not nearly enough for my liking, but the shelves are dust free for the first time in (lets be tactful here) quite a while!

Soonds like the Co-op in Kirkwall, a few skooshed ailes and twartree tills. I don't know how it survives, with a Somerfield (or whatever the name is these days) and Lidl close by. But our Co-op in Lerwick is great, really big and with a cafe, which is, now that no-one smokes in it anymore, quite good.
Ruthodanort from Unst
You should try the one in Stromness. There never was a more unhappy looking bunch of staff anywhere and that's not a criticism of them... And the shelves vary from full-to-bursting to bare and forlorn on a daily basis. Management can hardly say "It's on the boat" these days, as we have such a regular service. Relatively.
