Self Harming Cat
Posted: Thursday, 12 October 2006 |
We returned from our latest trip south to hear MC had picked up an infection and was at the vet. When we dropped by to pick him up, he was sporting a swollen paw. Whether this was before or after he had two rounds with the vet, I'm not so sure.
The upshot was cuts to his pad and a series of tablets to take. The vet had declined to administer these for fear of her life, but did inject him as a first boost. Mind you that was after MC was sedated to let them have a look without acquiring shredded features from the aforesaid feline.
The husband and I always feel quite embarrassed taking MC to the vet. I get a bit of abuse should I gather him up from 'an interesting kill-to-be' when he is known to attach himself to my scalp with his claws but generally he tolorates me and My Ways. On the other hand he is all sweetness and light with the husband - being His Cat.
Mind you I'm sure one and half hours on a wobbly boat in a small cage then getting things poked in The Wrong End does not do much to convince MC that the vet should be appreciated.
Thankfully MC is a lot better - though hopping around on three legs having arrived home from the vet he still wanted out, so 'better' is relative. He can now walk around on all fours, but still stands looking pathetic when the need arises.
This brings me to wonder how the injury occurred. It may have been glass, barbed wire or an open tin, but since MC has been stalked by a ginger Tom with three legs and being visited by a White Fluffy Thing with three legs, I'm worried he may think he's deformed and trying to redress the situation.
Should I be concerned? Does anyone know of a good cat psychologist?

Misplaced Isles News Web Sites and String
Posted: Thursday, 26 October 2006 |
Did anyone notice that links to News Web Sites on the 成人快手's North East and Northern Isles news web page, didn't include Orkney and Shetland papers?
They were on the one attached to the Highland and Islands' News web page.
I've had a con-flab with techno-trousers at the 成人快手 and this has now been rectified.
Aplologies to anyone who had got used to them being on the other pages and now has lost them.
happy hunting.
PS
The weather is horrible with us. Driving rain seeping through the window panes!!
I've had to batten down all hatches, remove all MC's visiting rights to hunting places and tie the wig on with stronger string.
How is everyone else coping?
