Age ranges of bloggers?

After being prompted to looking at the blog of "Not-so-clever comments" from Lewis, I did wonder what the age range of bloggers is. Of course, in the days of internet grooming (the Fank threads being a positive example, mind you!) it is a worry whether blogging is suitable for younger folk.

I also wondered whether there should be some sort of categories for blogs, So people can link up with those of similar interest and/or age range. I know I'd be flumoxed by some of the topics of the younger folk, but perhaps it would be good to have an easy link to find other photographers, for example. Afterall I need to track down the Manse Cat as he's run off with my camera!

Still blind blogging can bring surprises, I never thought I'd be talking to some men-mad females from the west, but it has been an education for me. And here's me thinking I knew it all !!!! :-)

So IBHQ, any chance of extending the IB to have a search option or a category index? Apparently no-one in Orkney wants to talk to me, it makes me quite dizzy zipping around finding someone else to talk to.

Oh and a 'last updated' flag for existing blogs would be good, so we can keep track of new comments. Pretty please.
(I'm using a forum on chortle.co.uk which might be useful for some ideas IBHQ)

Away Sooth

Just in case anyone is wondering, me and the Manse Cat are away sooth for a few days. We will return to blogging and photos when we return. Though may make the odd (!) comment if something grabs our attention.

Welcome to another Westray blogger - who seems quite ably filling the gap for us.

Hope the weather will behave itself so we can return home at the weekend.

Fit to drop

How easily it is to get confused - especially at my age. I meant to say it was myself and the husband that was away, and we locked the manse cat out of the office, so he wouldn't get any fancy ideas. Anyway we're back now.

However, we both came back to a nasty stomach bug, and have only just recovered. It was not helped by the manse cat's attempts to look after us. Jumping up and down on the bed at two in the morning was not welcome as we'd only just got to sleep having said hello to our friends Ralph, Hughey and Bert with the help of the bedside bucket.

Mind you, having lost weight in the process and taking tentative steps to regain our eating habits (Braving mince and tatties tonight after a week of soup, jelly and macaroni cheese - not all at the same time, I may add) I decided that now might be the time to start my New Year's resolutions of getting fitter and leaner. I never got going and now I have a head start, and what's a couple of months between friends?

I also have great intentions to join a Women's Football League trying to get going in Orkney, but afraid I might not last 50 yards or 5 minutes on the pitch.

I've always wanted to play football regularly, but only got the odd match with a work team (all male) when I lived in London. We played at primary, but only because, with just 12 kids at the school, if the boys wanted a kick around we had to be allowed to join in.

It's 15 years since I gave up playing hockey. (I usually ended up playing in goal and I decided standing in the wet and snow until a fast hard ball goes flashing past your face was not the best way to spend a Saturday afternoon!)

I'm now at the age where things are seizing up, so it will take great will and effort to get the momentum to start an exercise routine and then get to a point where I won't be totally embarrassed by slight young things whizzing around me as if I should be using a zimmer.

There must be loads of people building their stamina for the fank, not to mention dusting down boned garments to keep the figure trim (and that's just the men).

If anyone has any good tips on exercise and incentives for keeping going (and out of the biscuit tin) I'd love to hear them.
