What are we to do

I suppose most people now know that Derek and Christine are about to retire from the shop and post office. At the moment their is no prospect of any persons taking it on. SO what will Happen, If a buyer can't be found, simple, it closes!
It seems to me that if that happens and all stock, fixtures and fittings are disposed of it will be quite an expenditure to open the shop again, it probably wont happen. The shop being a lock-up, there is no accommodation.
There is however a house for sale on the Island, and also occasionally property to rent, and also the possibility of caravan living.
BUT who would want to live on a Island that has nothing to offer but peace and tranquillity away from the hustle and bustle and traffic noise, and four lane traffic jams, (we can only offer one lane, one way). We can't even offer any crime and disorder, Although someone stole an Orchid one day, they were seen digging it out. what kind of life is that.
People would just have to be satisfied with a quite life, although it may be quite hectic socially. How would they cope when total strangers spoke to them, they would probably freak-out.
Would they miss looking at high rises, office blocks and all that amazing architecture.
All the Isle of Luing could offer would be fantastic scenery lots of space lots of Islands to explore.
A fantastic community, just like the old days, How could anybody like that sort of thing.
