I make 14 - simply the ones i wasn't familiar with and a couple of trcaks that I knew that were bang on.

My Genesis suggestion is 'Follow You, Follow Me'...bought the single, still one of my favourites.

The drifters soldiered on after losing someone and someone else and someone else and someone else and someone else and someone else and someone else and then all the guys that replaced them got list too. All these surviving former members all carried on claiming the name which is why there are 832 groups on the cabaret circuits all called the drifters.

Following two tragic deaths, one of them founder member Duane Allman, and bassist Berry Oakley, the Allman Brothers Band return to the studio to produce "Brothers and Sisters" which turns out to be their greatest commercial success.

The obvious choice is Jessica, but it's slightly overheard because of Top Gear so the hit single Ramblin Man - the Allman Brothers Band would be a cheery alternative - Dickie Betts on fine form.

A band who lost their lead singer, never bothered to replace him, (in fact gave up having any vocals) and went on to have a string of hits.
They invented guitar music and were so big they were asked to write the theme music for the Vision On Gallery. (It was used for a while before being substituted by The Noveltones – a superior tune IMHO).
Anyway, its a shame their groundbreaking lead guitarist will be better remembered as a state of readiness before your dinner rather than the innovative maestro that he was.

I bet that feather tickled.

Free were a band who ran the gauntlet of personnel changes caused by all the usual rock n roll issues - disbanding, reforming etc etc.

Ironically,it was Paul Kossoff, who was in and out the band with drug addiction issues, that is not credited on this track but it is quite clearly his lead guitar work that is unmistakably on display. The band was minus Andy Fraser by this point, again, ironically in this track, because of Kossoff's unreliability.

By the time we get to the Heartbreaker album, the bluesy hard edge had been knocked off as Andy Johns smoothed off the rough edges.
