What next? – show tunes?

Bond themes tend to fall into two distinct categories: ballads and uptempo pop/rock tunes.

With some reluctance and hesitation, I think these wold have made good Bond themes:

This might be a good song for a film with a female Bond.

'Woman' - Neneh Cherry...the string arrangement is Bond-theme-ish. Unfortunately it lacks a big-impact ending but could do the job pretty well.

Who would make a good Jamesina Bond then? Rachel Weiss...she's currently Mrs Bond anyway!

let me at once declare a statement...............i've never watched a bond movie(life is too short)
i have watched harry palmer films (ask yer dad,@m.kelner esq) and i can say with concrete certainty that they are far superior films to 'bond movies'.......more atmospheric.....authentic.....unbelievable.....funnier..........cooler (by far).....dealing in an era from whence the bond films also emerged......and the 'HERO' is the same one every time....michael caine is far too good an actor to be 'jamesh bondsh'..........harry palmer is a real hero fighting the dark forces of atmospheric mid european cold war cities...aye like berlin.........bond writers were never clever or subtle enough to match that but if they had been then there was one song staring them in the face, and could have opened any of their films.....................

A new bond film is set to go into production. Set in southern Italy where organised crime has flourished, M has advised Bond that with the proposed construction of the Messina Bridge joining Sicily to Calabria, the mafiosa are going to flourish and expand with a view to eventual world domination.

Bonds mission is to take out the family heads and to destroy the bridge.

As the film reaches it's climax Bond goes missing seduced by a bella bella molto caldo Italiano

And as a result the mission fails badly and Bond is pensioned off
