Van Morrison is the most fabulous grumpy git to see in concert!! Saw him in the Ironworks in Inverness a couple of years ago. He had the bar closed before he came on, and any folk with drinks had to stand behind a taped line on the floor. He never acknowledged the crowd once, but man did he get through the songs and it was one of the best gigs I have ever, ever been too! I would love him to be my Gramps!!!

Too comedic, bright and breezy - surely - heaven knows I'm miserable now?

i prefer to surround myself with positive ungrumpy people

this song is proof if proof be needed that a 'sair grumpy heid' need not be a barrier to what is, in my humble ungrumpy opinion, johnny cash at his best.

Thanks for playing Al Stewart - though my texting campaign to get Orville on failed spectacularly, there were a number of good resons top play Orville, but our hero was unmoved.

And although they were played tonight (I suppose Jet was almost inevitable) easliy the most on theme track for this theme happens to be another McCartney number.

This really is very good, catchy, easy, drivetime on theme number: Our hero has always struck me as someone who doesn't 'get' McCartney - but check this out.

Agreed faither....but, I think the tone of these express sentiments of all round fed up- ness and short temper, beyond simply feeling the misery expressed in the title. Well, maybe not in Merle Haggard's case, but otherwise, I think they are appropriate.
