My Wandering Days Are Over - Belle & Sebastian
Eleven Days - David Byrne, Fatboy Slim & Cyndi Lauper from the opera, 'Here Lies Love'
Dare - Gorillaz - from Demon Days
Step On - The Happy Mondays
On Days Like These - Matt Munro - theme from the Italian Job, simply beautiful.
Nice to hear some blues on the show tonight: how about
Six Days On The Road - Taj Mahal
Sometimes when I go to a gig (and this is particularly true of big mega concerts) there comes a moment when the artist clears the stage and sings to you with no more than an accoustic guiar. I love that - both Paul Simon and Paul McCartney do that and it's my favourite part of the gig.
One Of these Days - Paul McCartney Paul and a guitar - lovely.Henri's anthem - make a change from Yesterday.
It's out of season, but hey Waiting for Christmas Day - Paul Simon who is a great guitarist.
And a couple of others:
Sunday Morning - Maroon 5
Saturday Night, Sunday Morning - the River Detectives
Brand New Day - 10CC
On Saturday Afternoons, 1963 - Rickie Lee Jones
Bang The Drum All Day Todd Rundgren wierd record, like nothing else he's done.
This Could Be The Day - James Grant much requested, never played.
I Loved You Yesterday - Lyle Lovett
The Days Of pearly Spencer - Marc Almond
When The Day is Short - Martha Wainwright
Anyway, there's zillions of these, that'll do.

huge 2nd for this - one day there will be a mass rediscovery of the Moody Blues late sixties albums.
Some of it is a bit pretentious sounding now and a bit overblown and self important but they knew how to work a mellotron.
As a yoof, I bought 'On The Threshhold Of A Dream'. It was number one in the album charts for months.
Never Comes The Day is probably he best track on it and it would be a treat to hear it on GIO, but I doubt we will - mind you, based on the last couple of nights - which have been superb - remixes of Dusty by St Etienne.... what next?..... The Moody Blues old hippie albums?
Good to hear St Etienne on GIO,very under rated.

Their aspirations were monumental (Sting and Bono seem like shrinking violets in comparison), their execution mediocre and their lyrics just banal - viz.
"In the garden of her love I'll stay awhile
To be, to be
What the seeds of her thoughts once mean to me
Come see, come see"
Three Blind Mice is a better read.
For me it all went wrong when Denny Laine left.
