Sometimes when I go to a gig (and this is particularly true of big mega concerts) there comes a moment when the artist clears the stage and sings to you with no more than an accoustic guiar. I love that - both Paul Simon and Paul McCartney do that and it's my favourite part of the gig.

huge 2nd for this - one day there will be a mass rediscovery of the Moody Blues late sixties albums.

Some of it is a bit pretentious sounding now and a bit overblown and self important but they knew how to work a mellotron.

As a yoof, I bought 'On The Threshhold Of A Dream'. It was number one in the album charts for months.

Never Comes The Day is probably he best track on it and it would be a treat to hear it on GIO, but I doubt we will - mind you, based on the last couple of nights - which have been superb - remixes of Dusty by St Etienne.... what next?..... The Moody Blues old hippie albums?

Good to hear St Etienne on GIO,very under rated.

Their aspirations were monumental (Sting and Bono seem like shrinking violets in comparison), their execution mediocre and their lyrics just banal - viz.
