The Clapping Song
Your Wimbledon inspired puns were a joy tonight. As promised here are some of the best ones that came in:
Alicia Keyes - Umpire State of Mind
Anything by Frankie Volley and The Four Seasons
Herbie Hancock - Racket
Patrick Hernandez - Bjorn to Be Alive
Kings of Leon - Sets On Fire
Culture Club - Do You Rally Want To Hurt Me
Elvis - Return To Server
The Who - You Becker You Bet
Marlena Shaw - Wade in the Water
Tomorrow's theme is clapping. Clearly I don't means the applause that comes at the end of a song but rather the handclaps that feature on songs like We Will Rock You and Jack and Diane. Put your hands together and see what you come up with.

Huge +1 on Unsquare Dance
But ready the QI Klaxon, because here's your opening track:
* Cyndi Lauper - Iko Iko
(more clappy than The Clapping Song)
Also
* Mika - Lollipop (lovely complex mix of claps & finger snaps)
* Beck - Go It Alone
* Adamski - Killer (although those were drum machine claps)
* Lenny Kravitz- American Woman

There's a song in my head which has a really prolific clapping bit on it - kinda like machine gun fire - very rapid: unfortunately I can't remember what it is, but age doesn't come alone, I suppose.
I'm quite certain there's some clapping on Shakin Steven's - You Drive Me Crazy which, although I have no interest in the artist, I do like this one number.Well produced pop is well produced pop.
I have to say though I never did like The Clapping Song or Mickey or any of those novelty things which involve clapping, so I'm kind of anti clapping.
Didn't Van Morrison do something about one hand clapping?
