Always makes me reflect on a couple things...
that summers movie blockbuster, "Beneath the Planet of the Apes" & my collection of Planet of the Apes bubble-gum cards. Travelling the old A9 in the Morry Thou to the caravan at Findhorn!

visted my friend Kathleen in Lourdes last year...she introduced me to:

Willy DeVille - 'Hey Joe'...a mariachi version, abig hit in France...it's really worth listening to. Reminds me of my birthday, when I was feeling extremely pleased with myself (as someone scared of wasps and bees and generally flying stingy things) having gone to Kathleen + Jean-Pierres' beekeeper-friend's house in a village in the pyrenees, with the contents of their beehives to extract the honey. Spent soooo long in an outbuilding hooching with bees, some of them crawling over my feet as they chatted, laughed and worked all sorts of machinery to collect the honey from the combs...fascinating stuff and J-P didn't even let on he'd been stung twice...just so I didn't freak out! Bees are fascinating creatures - I love them now!

The bees didn't work the machinery...they're not that clever!

Wow - that's a record for me - 5 of my shouts played on the one show - and a busy show by all accounts.

The morons are already loafing about, sitting up ultra late, disappearing with their pals until the wee small hours on weeknights all culminating disturbed sleep for me and a zombie lifestyle for them.

I apologise unreservedly to the blogotariat for sounding anything like jFe - the ultimate irony - I did say at #6 they were blindingly obvious, though I really do like them whereas I found it hard to accept jFe actually requested things he liked as opposed to things that were merely thematic.

A list of one for Friday, but I really love it.

Okay, back to requesting the less obvious and running futile campaigns in support of enjoyed but never played artists. Mr Git could with the company, i'm sure.

I would ask for the Isley Brothers version of summer breeze but it's only really worth hearing if you play the full version instead of the radio edit.

So instead, the one that always gets me in holiday mode

Yes it's the old standard but mainly an instrumental and it's almost like the song was written for his sax. It's got an alternative vocal in parts but the ultimate feelgood lift the spirits get it right up ye work i'm on my holidays type of tune. Is that a good enough reason to find it?
