How about songs from different continents they could include the continent name or reference to them for a theme? Might find some gems from Asia? Or tune/ band your were into at school

I'm thinking we should have a theme called East West devide we could play tune either with bands from the west or East we can pitch the likes of Aztec Camera ( I can only think of them because Roddy Frame lived in the same area as me Westwood EK when growing up as in Westwood to Hollywood with the Proclaimers BB and Miss Babs could tally up numbers of suggestions of Artists and then we would see what coast rocks the most just a thought

Until the courts open tomorrow we will not know what harm has been done by Friday's theme. Let's have no more division.

The Slits? Not in my name!!! And why is Country music being maligned? Bryan adores Kate Rusby. And if he is not quite so fond of Billy Bragg, that's something he and I have in common. Don't even get me started on Morrissey...

I'm not maligning Country - as my editorial comment suggests, they overlap so much that it's very hard to love one and hate the other. I think my record of requests will bear that out.

I do note Bryan's love of Kate Rusby, but find it amazing that she's about the only folk artiste he'll play without severe prodding, particularly when you listen to the likes of June Tabor & Eliza Carthy (whose voice is what Kate's wants to be when it grows up).

So, as a result and a peace offering, can we please have one of

* Eliza Carthy - (the Paul Weller track)

The brilliant cover of Talking Heads "Heaven" or "The Perfect Word" .... Also this week my exploration of The Leisure Society uncovered a stunning covet version of Gary Numan's "Cars" - most a most remarkable remake of a song I previously loathed.
