We don't make new years resolutions in this household. At least, not publically. They have a nasty habit of coming undone very quickly with no net gain for anyone.
So the following can be freely ignored on that basis.

I hate my job. Not because of the nature of the work, just the iniquities in the office. But it's a wage even if it's not a living. Perhaps new pastures green would be a good idea.
Manny also has itchy feet. Selling up and reforming sounds quite enticing. You have to have some aspirations.

But then, forced to think about it, I realise I'm at seven.

I think it's going to be a tough old year for lots of us.

Churchill said, 'If you're going through hell, keep going' and I'm kind of with that.

I've no great sensation of optimism, I have to say, therefore a year of Churchillian stoicism seems to be in order.

Like everyone, I've made lots of mistakes,I'm sure, and given the sad obituary I'm sure we've all just read of Gerry Rafferty, I think my resolutions will be based around:

#5 My resolution is to cut down my stupidly long commute to Livi every day, so has something in common with yours MD. These last two snowy winters have made up my mind for me.
I actually like my job tho' so will maybe have to flit to somewhere further east. It would be great to hear "Moving" so 2nds for that.
In the interests of variety i'm gonna suggest....

I agree with you though that "Right Down the Line" is the top one from the man as it has a real feelgood factor about it.

#24 did they not have a choice of two songs for Mick Karn of Japan who died yesterday as well? I never got Japan. Just didn't do anything for me. I once won a japan album off the Tom ferrie show on radio scotland which was a gatefold sleeve of Quiet Life and gave it away not realising the gatefold sleeve was quite rare. I later saw it advertised in record collector for three figure sums.

I have resolved not to make any New Year resolutions as I can't see the point of them. I will maintain the same positive attitude no matter what 2011 brings. You never know what is around the corner so just live life for the moment!

I would just like to echo the sentiments expressed above about Gerry Rafferty. He will be sadly missed but luckily he has left a legacy of great music. Pity that he is known mainly for two tracks though.

They say Good Riddance to bad rubbish so I resolve to declutter this year and get rid of all the stuff that just gets in the road of me reaching stuff I really need. I also resolve to start recycling stuff as i am guilty of just chucking everything in the one bin.

I gave up on the long commute from Berwickshire to Livi last Christmas (22nd Dec 2009, the day the blizzards started). I now live in Bathgate, which is a wee hop step & a skip away. I still got snowed in at the start of Dec, mind.
