At least you get invited to funerals, if such a thing should need an invite.
Conversely,I was specially requested not to attend my ex father in law's funeral.
I can't remember what the first waltz was at our wedding, but I do recall that immediately before we got engaged we had been listening to:
What A Fool Believes - The Doobie Brothers
Still, we've got the kids to show for it and these days enjoy a polite but distant relationship.
Not looking forward to this theme: a night full of The Black Eyed Peas, no doubt.

But I can remember from my own wedding reception being told to keep the music down as there was an armed forces convention next door. Maybe Frankie Goes to Hollywood War wasn't an inspired choice, but as I had very little to do with the playlist and didn't even get up to dance to it, I felt seriously miffed. I've yet to discover who asked for that one. Needless to say, we won't be going back to that venue nor hiring that DJ again.

I've told it before but my cousin had Perry Como ' And I love You so ' for her wedding waltz. The Dj obviously playing a Perry Como LP then announced for everyone else to join the wedding party on the floor to start the celebrations. Unfortunately the second track was 'For the Good Times'.
So as the wedding waltz finished everyone piled onto the floor to the strains of 'Don't look so sad I know it's over'

I'm very confused about this theme. It's suddenly become 1st wedding dances. I thought it was strange wedding songs, full stop. and then there's a lot of suggestions more suitable for "what would be a strange wedding song" rather than "what was a strange wedding song".
No matter - Glen's #52 tombstone tunes sounds like a much more fruitful option.
