Folk in the city...
There is link between Archie Fisher and Sex In The City. Don't expect him to turn up for his next gig in a pair of Manalos though. It's just that Archie's live guests tonight are The Cast, whose recording of Auld Lang Syne had something of a starring role in the film version of the TV show. He's also going to be joined by folkie legend Arlo Guthrie for a memorable night of live music.
Lots of emails coming in commenting on the that John Martyn has died. There are some nice comments from fans elsewhere on the blog. We'll definitely include one of his songs tonight and there will be more of his music on tonight's Iain Anderson show. As a tribute to John Martyn, Radio Scotland is repeating one of our Classic Album series - where Davey Scott looked at the success of Solid Air. You can catch this special programme this Sunday at five minutes past 3.
