Brits and pieces...
Seasick Steve, Neil Diamond, Kanye West and Beck make strange bedfellows, but interestingly they've all been nominated as best international male at this year's . Nice to see Fleet Foxes pick up two nominations for international album and group.
Does anyone else think that the international categories are the most interesting this year? The British ones seem to be dominated by corporate rock like Duffy and Coldplay. Mind you there's no point in disguising the fact that The Brits are about awarding commercial success. Why else would the X Factor contestants doing Hero be nominated?
Can't say I'm that excited by this year's Brits bunch, but then again I've been in a grump about them since 1986 when Huey Lewis and The News beat Talking Heads to best international group. A travesty....

I assumed it was from "Pop Quiz", presented by Mike Read in the 80s. I found a photo on the internet of Mike Read presenting the quiz with the same diamond pattern set, so I think that's right.
