Missed last night's show - what are the themes for next week?

China/Bagpipes and Drums/Towns,Cities and Villages and can't remember the fourth!!

Kinda guessing T'Pau's China In Your Hand will feature on Monday.

Tuesday - some Joan Baez would be good - Please come to Boston or Boulder to Birmingham. Or what about Eve of Destruction (I'm sure I don't need to say it talks about Selma, Alabama). Wednesday - Rapture by Anita Baker or just about anything by Lisa Stansfield, mebbe Tenderly. Thursday - No man's land by Eric Bogle.

On Wednesday I could Get it on with Get It On to Get It On by T-Rex (or The Power Station).

Don't know why I was so curious to find out next week's themes 'cos I'll be in France next week! On second thoughts, I'll bid for some Marvin Gaye or Al Green for Thursday anyway (doubt I'll be alone in that) - I'll listen again on the internet!

Oops! Meant Wednesday - not much in the way of pipes and drums on Marvin Gaye/Al Green records (to the best of my knowledge anyway).

I will take Mandi's advice by thinking over the weekend about the challenging themes set for the week ahead. However....

Walking on the chinese wall - Philip Bailey

China Grove - the Doobie Brothers (which could be played on Tuesday too as it is "a sleepy little town down around San Antone"). Has the same song ever been played on two consecutive nights?

From Brighton Beach to Santa Monica - The Clientele
Paris - Tack, the boy disaster
New York State of Mind - but only the Billy Joel/Tony Bennet duet
Boulder to Birmingham or Crescent City - Emmylou Harris.

Thank you Mr. MacLean! I just could not remember the titlle. It was bugging me all day and half the night. You think this will work as a theme? I would suggest Ian Dury's ' There ain't half been some clever b_st_rds ', but for an early evening show it's probably inappropriate.

Hi all - looks like Iggy is getting the Blog vote fgor the original and best version of China Girl!

Todays anorak fact is that the 12 INCH version of Sensual World was double grooved so depending on where you dropped the needle you got the normal or an instrumental version. Cant do that with a CD!

Now I know nobody needed to know that.....
