Life takes on a whole new meaning. Sadly, that cruel cruel Pauline finished with me the next day. I can't remember any music that specifically coincided with the events above, but the b-side of Jilted John's "Going Steady" reflects a somewhat later series of kisses:

Great show last night. I can't believe I forgot to suggest Cerys Matthews' Chardonnay. I saw her at the Oran Mor a year or so ago, and that was one of the stand-out tracks from the set.

I'm afraid I'm struggling a bit for suggestions for tonight. My wife - Jane - suggested "Silver Lady" by David Soul. I'll understand if you don't play that!! Also, Goldfinger by Shirley Bassey. Perhaps a better suggestion is "Silver threads and golden needles" - there are lots of versions of course including the Springfields/Dusty and Linda Ronstadt.

I don't think you've played Emmylou Harris recently - so Queen of the Silver Dollar would be good.

Norrie - there may have been ampersands in there, but it got lost so I don't know! No, I have now researched, and it was the inverted commas (which is a problem for me, as that's how I usually mark titles)

Inevitably for tonight:

Silver Machine from Hawkwind;
but as I have moaned long and loud in the past, this is about their only song that ever gets played, so....
since they recorded (briefly) on the Bronze label in the late 70s, we could also be treated to Shot Down in the Night from the Live 79 album, or Levitation from the album of the same name.

Also Silver by Echo and the Bunnymen

Bryan - apologies for the double text rant last night, but I honestly couldn't believe that ELO's El Dorado was getting airplay. It sounded like a bunch of tired old men with too much studio time and money for strings, etc casting round aimlessly for something to sing. Oh - that's what it was! Each to his own I suppose.
