I also love the references to other musicians theme. I was making the tea last night listening to the "Help" album and I heard Sinead O'Connor mention the "Black eyed peas" in her track "Ode to Billy Joe" the Bobby Gentry version is pretty good too.

I decided to have a Kate Bush week this week so for the French Theme it could be:

"Ne t'en fui pas" b-side to "There Goes a Tenner" and it was also an A-side in France with "Un baiser d'enfant" as its b-side.

I can't resist this Roxy song as it is my all time favourite "A Song For Europe" where Ferry has a Latin chant and also a section sung in French. I learned this Latin and French off by heart and used it to pretend I knew some languages to impress the girls when I was a teenager. .....it didn't work.

Really good stuff.

There are any number of one-word artists mentioned in song titles (Dancing QUEEN, HEART of Glass, PRINCE Charming, RUSH Hour, Lady MADONNA, KISS From A Rose, et cetera). Multiple artists are mentioned in "We Didn't Start The Fire" by Billy Joel, including 'Beatlemania', which also appears in "London Calling" by The Clash. It would be great to hear either of those, or alternatively -

Hi Bryan and GIO team, have a couple of suggestions for tonight: Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple mentions "Frank Zappa and the Mothers" come to think of it, this would have fitted in with lastnights story theme. The song was written about a fire in a hotel they were staying at. Also Censorship by The Ramones (" Ask Ozzy, Zappa or me we'll tell you what it's like to be free" ). The wonderstuff had a song called Never Loved Elvis, or maybe that was an album title.

Hi Bryan, thanks for playing my Queen song 'Now I'm Here' on Wednesday, first time lucky. As an absolutely huge Queen fan (my youngest son is named after all the band members) I wracked my brains for a Queen song with a gem in it and came up with Spread Your Wings from the News of the World album. Single got to number 17 I think in 1977. If you don't know the song it is about a young guy called Sammy who has aspirations about getting out of his dead end job but his boss thinks he should just be happy working in his bar which is why the Emerald Bar gets a mention every time the chorus is sung.
