Shelter from the Rain

Shelter from the Rain

Whilst all around you

Feel the storm

Of wind and rain

That do battle

For superiority

Against this

Wee land.

You remain strong throughout

Displaying the colours

Pleasing to see

No need of battles

Your position

Is safe.

A wee sprinkle of sunlight

Is all that you ask

To allow your growth

The giver of life.

Whilst many

Remain indoors

It is pleasing to see

My short walk

On this wee isle

Was not in vain.

St John's Wort in among other things?

Flying Cat from is it a competition?

FC - I didn't know St John's Wort had berries but the shape of the sepals certainly has that look about it. Are they poisonous?

Jill from EK

carol from being lazy

St John's wort/Hypericum - a genus of more than 400 species: H calcynum is Rose of Sharon/Aaron's beard, which is evergreen: this one is deciduous and grows here, self-seeding like mad. Don't know its name...

Flying Cat from Rolling Acres

Thank you to Flying Cat & Jill - I value your knowledge of the plant shown.

Hypericum. My friend, who breeds stick insects from all over the world, grows this in her garden to feed them with it.
