~ Where Are You From? ~

Where are you from?

I wonder

As I gaze upon

Your mangled sight.

Washed ashore

On rocks

So harsh

Even the pain

Of neglect

You must endure.

Where Are You From?

Did you travel

The oceans so vast

Or perhaps only

A wee local

Cast adrift.

Whatever your origins

A tale I'm sure

You can tell

As you soak up

The midday sun

On our rocky shore

May you stay a while

And enjoy

This wee isle

We call 'Mull'.

How very true Jill. Thank you for reading my poem.

Sorry, it might just be me, or my PC ( not political correctness, the other PC, )but I don't know what it is in the picture. It looks like a bit of seaweed to me, but that could be my eyes, they're not quite in tune with my brain, although the rest of my body doesn't seem to be either ( in tune with ny brain) Nice verse for an early riser. Cheery...

Tws, yun's a stick. Wi seaweed attached.

Ruthodanort from Unst

It is far wiser to allow the 'author' to describe the image.

It wouldn't take much to turn Ruth's succinct description into a haiku!

Flying Cat from knowing a haiku from a handsaw

Hi Ruthodanort: trust you to shake a stick. I would not mull over it much.
