How is a horse spooky? A wild Shetland Pony is more scary - especially as they don't move when they are on the road in front of you.

I think Michelle means 'easily spooked' rather than eerie (not that I would know either way). I am *really* looking forward to seeing the photos on this one! Good luck!

shame about the horse, but an ox will make a change!

On naming animals. I found Moo's naming of her prized Angus "Prince Chan" quite charming, though of course Braveheart might have been more highlandish (islandish? outlandish?). She named two of her sheep: Dinner and Tea, quite funnily and appropriately. Would island bloggers have reservations, objections if I were to call two of my destined for consumption steers "Prime" and "Choice" (for USDA top meat categories)? or a prized goat, "Vindaloo" - for its intended purpose, and after one of my very favorite dishes? or an old fashioned Polish hog "Great Leader Chow Mein" (or perhaps Herr Bratwurst)? Do you think that such jocular animal nomenclature (derived from projected ultimate uses) can reasonably be considered offensive. Feedback/ comments appreciated. I certainly would not want to offend, even if unwittingly (witlessly?).

I wonder why mjc found the naming of TGMITN's bull so charming...

Hot or Cold is the name of the game, eh FC. You are getting warm. I suspect Barebraes knows the answer to your question, through a third party, and she is doubtless chuckling.

I thought I'd got very warm indeed a while ago on a fleeting visit to a US floral website......but I'm too polite to give the game away. And anyway, I'd feel a right charlie were I to be wrong.....
