The Norwegian "Pels Sheep" (named "Spiss") in the picture is actually my sheep. It`s very amusing seeing a picture of her on Islandblogging.
Dag's daughter from Student in Trondheim, Norway
What superb photos, Moo and Dag! Thank you. Dag, the location of your house is just wonderful, I am green with envy! Are your sheep on the opposite side of the river from your house?

I saw my pictures of Dirdal and H酶gsfjorden on bbc.scotland's mainpage today. I'm quite thrilled and honored by the way you Scots show interest in Norway. Thanks to you, Michelle, for putting up the pixs.

Very nice area you live in, Dag.

It`s making me homesick for Scotland! I miss rivers too..and mountains...and trees...it doesnae look like they get much wind in Norway...
Hermit from Melancholy place
I thought Orkney was deemed to be part of Scotland. True, not the same as some parts of mainland Scotland, but Scotland none the less? No melancholia, Hermit. Snap out of it. Put some trees on your computer and have a slide show.

I've discovered that one does not dare call an Orcadian a "Scott." They seem more comfortable being identified as Orcadian - or Norwegian!! (They even sound like Norwegians!) But Scottish...I dunno. That never goes over very well. It was the same way in Sicily - you didn't dare call a Sicilian an "Italian" !!! I bet if Norwegian politicians came over here and canvassed for votes they'd get plenty!!
Michelle Therese from Mainland Orkney
True, never call an Orcadian a Scot! Speaking as a Scot I feel particularly brave, living here, sometimes...;-)
Hermit from In the Lions Den
oh good grief no, mjc, Orkney is Orkney and a sight more Norwegian than Scots! And they do prefer it that way, not that I mind at all. that body of water atween here and Scotland is an BIIIIIIGGG one in more ways than one. ;-)
Hermit from Orkney Not Scotland
I'm sorry, it won't happen again. f From now on I call you Orcadian or Islanders, but I did it in good faith. I have both scotish and celtic blood in me veins mixed with " det norske." I'm very glad you have so high thoughts about us norwegian.
