Right, that's it. I'm off to gargle on tonic wine laced with rat poison. And it's all you fault DS. I hope your conscience can survive the imminent demise of a well-loved pet............*sigh*

Do you still not have the electric then? It makes such a difference. If not we can get extra wicks for parafin lamps at the Cross Skigersta stores in Ness.

Never mind the parafin, plant a few windylights, no-one will mind........

Get a peat fire going instead of sobbing in the dark. Very soon you and Lerwick Trevor are going to be doing duets (no, not duvets, Mia). So, shape up, look up: winter is on its way (oh, its' there already? Well, spring is on its way ... I think, I hope!).

I arrived home with my hair looking like i`d been dragged through a hedge. My clothes were soaking and i was wondering what the hell happened to me. Now i find out it was just the terrible weather. Being pissed since new year isn`t all fun.

Come on, DS, lets see a little bit o positivity! I would LOVE to have a fire like you have, I've always believed it would cheer the long winter nights up no end. But no, just got those horrible heaters that Scottish Power calls 'Total Control' heating. No control more like. I want a REAL FIRE!!!!!!!! (Not the dangerous kind mind, just one in a grate with a chimney will do.)

my god i think i will have to come and get you out of this depression if this threat doesnt work what the hell will !!!

personally mjc, i think everyone would be a lot happier if they could indulge in duvet days more often - so much more conducive to a leisurely ulcer free life!

For your own sake digitalsands at least pretend to cheer up - the alternative is too awful to contemplate. Ruthodanort I am with you on the fire front: my home is a fireplace-free zone. Mia is far better provided for in that department. Total Control merely means the supplier has the control and the user doesn't.

I'm leaving my 2 fires behind and gettin total control....
